PN6400 series project for CNPC

China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC):

During the oil extraction process, operators need to continuously monitor the operation of each oil well’s pumping unit. The parameters collected include real-time sensor data such as pressure, voltage, current, and power, which are crucial for promptly determining if the pump is damaged or beginning to wear, thus ensuring the safety and efficiency of the extraction operations.

Traditionally, data acquisition has been performed by industrial PCs directly reading sensor data from each oil well. However, due to the non-real-time nature of desktop systems, it is challenging to achieve timestamp alignment across all parameters, making real-time data acquisition difficult.

In contrast, industrial gateways in oilfield production management enable data monitoring, fault diagnosis, predictive maintenance, and intelligent decision-making for oilfield equipment. The gateway can collect data such as pressure, temperature, and flow rate from oil wells and transmit it to a data center for storage and analysis, providing essential data support for the maintenance and management of the wells.

In response to these requirements, our company provided the PN series gateway to the client. Running an optimized version of the Ubuntu system, it can complete the collection of various oil well parameters within 120ms, meeting real-time requirements. Additionally, the gateway can run edge algorithms, performing local logic processing to further ensure the efficiency of the data acquisition operations.
